Perfect replacement for the 10 year old original. Easy to install even without instructions (they would have been helpful in making the job a little faster but that is nit-picking). Cost was a fraction of what the dealership would have charge without labor - so no complaints there either. Would recommend to anyone looking to replace this item on their 1999 VW Passat GLS, 5 Spd.
